Artificial Intelligence Models for Intelligent Decision Support in Complex Systems

| Abstract | The increasing complexity of modern technological, organizational, and industrial systems has created significant challenges for conventional decision-making approaches. Complex systems generate large volumes of heterogeneous information through interconnected processes, dynamic interactions, and uncertain operational conditions. Traditional decision methods based primarily on human expertise and predefined analytical rules often face limitations in processing large-scale data and adapting to rapidly changing environments. Artificial Intelligence (AI) models provide advanced computational capabilities that enable intelligent decision support through automated learning, predictive analysis, pattern recognition, and adaptive reasoning. This research article examines the role of Artificial Intelligence models in supporting intelligent decision-making processes within complex systems. The study analyses major AI approaches, including machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, and hybrid intelligence methods, with respect to their contribution to improving decision accuracy, efficiency, and adaptability. The research follows a conceptual analytical methodology based on existing scholarly developments in AI-driven decision support systems and complex system management. The study highlights that AI models enhance decision support by transforming large and complex datasets into meaningful insights, enabling predictive capabilities, and assisting decision-makers in uncertain environments. However, successful implementation requires addressing important challenges related to explainability, data reliability, ethical considerations, computational requirements, and human-AI collaboration. The findings indicate that Artificial Intelligence models represent an important technological foundation for developing advanced decision support mechanisms capable of handling complex and dynamic environments. |
