Abstract Artificial intelligence has become an increasingly important technological foundation for modern research and intelligent technology development. The growing complexity of digital systems, large-scale datasets, rapidly changing technological environments, and demand for accelerated innovation have created a need for research frameworks capable of integrating computational intelligence with systematic scientific inquiry. AI-driven research frameworks provide structured mechanisms through which artificial intelligence can support literature discovery, knowledge synthesis, data interpretation, predictive modeling, experimental design, technological evaluation, and innovation decision-making. This study examines the role of AI-driven research frameworks in intelligent technology development and evaluates their contribution to research efficiency, technological innovation, analytical capability, and evidence-based development. A qualitative descriptive research design based on secondary scholarly literature was adopted. Thematic analysis was applied to identify recurring patterns associated with AI-assisted research processes, intelligent knowledge discovery, predictive development, research automation, and responsible technology governance.
The findings indicate that AI can improve research processes by accelerating information retrieval, identifying relationships across large datasets, supporting experimental optimization, generating predictive insights, and facilitating technology evaluation. AI-driven frameworks can also improve coordination between research stages by integrating data collection, analytical modeling, simulation, validation, and decision support into interconnected workflows. Nevertheless, the implementation of such frameworks presents challenges involving data quality, algorithmic bias, explainability, computational requirements, research integrity, reproducibility, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and human oversight. The study concludes that AI-driven research frameworks can provide a strong foundation for intelligent technology development when designed as adaptive, evidence-based, human-centered, and ethically responsible systems.
