| Abstract | The rapid expansion of digital information has created a growing requirement for analytical approaches capable of discovering meaningful patterns from large, complex, and heterogeneous datasets. Data mining provides a systematic foundation for extracting hidden relationships, trends, structures, and predictive signals from organizational and technological data. Intelligent pattern recognition further extends conventional data mining by integrating machine learning, statistical learning, artificial intelligence, clustering, classification, association analysis, anomaly detection, and adaptive computational methods. This study examines major data mining approaches for intelligent pattern recognition and evaluates their contribution to knowledge discovery, predictive analysis, automated classification, anomaly identification, and intelligent decision-making. A qualitative descriptive research design based on secondary academic literature was adopted to examine established data mining methods and their applications across contemporary digital environments. The analysis focuses on classification, clustering, association-rule mining, decision trees, neural networks, support vector machines, ensemble learning, and anomaly-detection approaches. The findings indicate that data mining can transform large-scale datasets into useful knowledge by identifying relationships that may not be apparent through conventional analytical techniques. Classification approaches are particularly useful for categorizing complex observations, while clustering methods support the discovery of previously unknown groups. Association analysis can reveal relationships between variables, whereas anomaly-detection models can identify unusual behavior and potential risks. Intelligent pattern recognition becomes more effective when data mining models are combined with appropriate preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation, and domain knowledge. However, challenges involving data quality, dimensionality, computational complexity, model interpretability, privacy, cybersecurity, and algorithmic bias can affect analytical reliability. The study concludes that intelligent pattern recognition requires an integrated data mining framework that combines high-quality data, appropriate analytical algorithms, continuous evaluation, and responsible governance. Future developments should emphasize explainable data mining, automated feature discovery, adaptive learning, privacy-preserving analytics, multimodal pattern recognition, and human-centered decision support. |
