| Abstract | Digital transformation has evolved from the simple adoption of digital technologies toward the development of intelligent, adaptive, interconnected, and data-driven software ecosystems. Organizations increasingly require software systems capable of processing complex information, automating business processes, supporting strategic decisions, and continuously adapting to changing technological and organizational conditions. Intelligent software systems integrate artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, advanced analytics, intelligent automation, application programming interfaces, and adaptive architectures to support this transformation. This study examines the role of intelligent software systems in future digital transformation and proposes a conceptual framework for integrating intelligent technologies with organizational processes and digital strategies. A conceptual and descriptive research methodology was adopted through a thematic synthesis of scholarly literature related to software engineering, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, intelligent information systems, cloud computing, machine learning, and business process automation. The analysis indicates that intelligent software systems can enhance organizational agility, process efficiency, decision quality, service personalization, innovation capacity, and responsiveness to changing market conditions. Machine-learning capabilities enable software systems to identify patterns and generate predictions, while intelligent automation can reduce repetitive manual activities and improve operational consistency. Cloud-native architectures provide scalable infrastructure, whereas application programming interfaces facilitate integration across heterogeneous digital platforms. The proposed framework incorporates data acquisition, system integration, intelligent processing, automated decision support, human interaction, performance monitoring, and continuous adaptation. Potential applications include intelligent enterprise platforms, healthcare systems, financial technologies, smart manufacturing, digital commerce, education, public administration, and customer-service environments. Despite substantial opportunities, implementation remains constrained by challenges involving legacy systems, cybersecurity, data governance, algorithmic transparency, organizational resistance, infrastructure costs, software complexity, and shortages of interdisciplinary expertise. The study emphasizes that successful digital transformation requires more than technological modernization; it requires the integration of intelligent software capabilities with organizational strategy, governance, human expertise, and continuous improvement. The study concludes that intelligent software systems can provide a strong technological foundation for future digital transformation by enabling organizations to develop adaptive, scalable, predictive, and increasingly autonomous digital environments. |
