| Abstract | The rapid evolution of web technologies has fundamentally transformed the development, delivery, and consumption of digital services. Future digital platforms require web technologies capable of supporting high scalability, intelligent personalization, real-time interaction, interoperability, security, accessibility, and efficient processing across heterogeneous devices and networks. Traditional web architectures may face limitations when applications need to manage massive user populations, distributed data sources, continuous information flows, and increasingly complex service dependencies. This study examines advanced web technologies for future digital platforms, focusing on progressive web applications, cloud-native web architectures, application programming interfaces, microservices, WebAssembly, real-time communication, serverless computing, artificial intelligence integration, edge computing, semantic technologies, and advanced web security. A qualitative descriptive research design based on secondary academic literature was adopted to examine the contribution of these technologies to scalability, performance, usability, interoperability, reliability, and intelligent digital service delivery. The analysis indicates that modern web platforms increasingly depend on modular and distributed architectures that can independently scale application components and support rapid service evolution. Progressive web technologies improve accessibility across different devices, while WebAssembly can support high-performance browser-based computation. APIs and microservices facilitate interoperability and service integration, whereas cloud and edge computing can improve resource availability and response time. Artificial intelligence further expands web-platform capabilities through intelligent recommendation, conversational interfaces, automated content processing, predictive analytics, and adaptive personalization. Nevertheless, advanced web technologies create challenges involving cybersecurity, privacy, interoperability, browser compatibility, architectural complexity, infrastructure costs, data governance, and specialized technical expertise. The study concludes that future digital platforms require integrated web architectures combining distributed computing, intelligent services, secure APIs, real-time processing, adaptive interfaces, and scalable infrastructure. Future research should investigate AI-native web platforms, decentralized architectures, intelligent edge-web integration, privacy-preserving personalization, WebAssembly-based applications, and sustainable web infrastructure. |
