| Abstract | The rapid evolution of software technologies has fundamentally changed the manner in which modern applications are conceived, designed, developed, tested, deployed, and maintained. Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, large language models (LLMs), cloud-native computing, microservices, low-code and no-code platforms, intelligent automation, containerization, edge computing, and advanced analytics are increasingly being incorporated into application development environments. These technologies enable development teams to automate repetitive tasks, generate software components, improve testing, accelerate deployment, and develop adaptive applications. Recent systematic research confirms that AI techniques are now being applied across planning, requirements engineering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance activities. This study examines how emerging software technologies can be integrated to create intelligent, scalable, efficient, secure, and adaptive applications. A conceptual and descriptive research design was employed using thematic analysis of scholarly literature addressing AI-assisted development, LLM-based software engineering, machine learning, low-code development, cloud-native technologies, intelligent testing, software automation, and application lifecycle management. Existing research on LLMs demonstrates applications across code generation, code completion, testing, code review, requirements processing, program repair, and software maintenance. The analysis identifies intelligent development assistance, automated code generation, predictive quality assurance, cloud-native deployment, adaptive application behavior, automated testing, continuous integration, and intelligent monitoring as major components of emerging application development. The study proposes an Integrated Intelligent Application Development Framework consisting of requirement intelligence, architecture intelligence, AI-assisted implementation, automated quality assurance, cloud-native deployment, intelligent monitoring, security governance, and continuous optimization. Low-code development is also increasingly important because recent evidence indicates that it can accelerate software development, although quality, complexity, cost, and security outcomes remain context-dependent. The findings indicate that emerging technologies can significantly enhance development efficiency when integrated with established software engineering practices. |
