| Abstract | The rapid evolution of digital technologies has significantly transformed the software development landscape, creating new requirements for scalability, adaptability, interoperability, cybersecurity, intelligent automation, sustainability, and continuous innovation. Software systems increasingly operate across cloud platforms, edge environments, mobile devices, Internet of Things infrastructures, artificial intelligence ecosystems, and distributed digital services. These developments have created technology challenges that cannot always be effectively addressed through conventional software development approaches. Future-oriented software development frameworks therefore require flexible architectures, iterative engineering practices, automated quality assurance, intelligent development tools, secure engineering principles, distributed computing capabilities, and continuous delivery mechanisms. This study examines software development frameworks for addressing future technology challenges and evaluates their contribution to software adaptability, scalability, reliability, security, maintainability, development efficiency, and organizational innovation. A qualitative descriptive research design based on secondary academic literature was adopted. The analysis considers agile development, DevOps, cloud-native development, microservices, serverless computing, artificial intelligence-assisted software engineering, model-driven development, low-code development, secure software development, edge computing, and sustainable software engineering. The findings indicate that future software frameworks increasingly require modularity, automation, continuous integration, intelligent testing, adaptive deployment, and infrastructure flexibility. Agile and DevOps approaches support rapid development and continuous delivery, while cloud-native and microservice architectures provide scalability and deployment flexibility. Artificial intelligence can improve coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and predictive maintenance. However, future-oriented development introduces challenges related to architectural complexity, technological fragmentation, legacy-system integration, cybersecurity, AI reliability, skill requirements, development costs, and governance. The study concludes that software development frameworks must evolve from isolated development methodologies toward integrated engineering ecosystems that combine automation, intelligence, security, scalability, sustainability, and human expertise. |
