| Abstract | The increasing complexity of modern software systems has created substantial demand for computational algorithms capable of improving execution speed, resource utilization, scalability, reliability, and overall system performance. Contemporary software applications increasingly operate across cloud platforms, distributed infrastructures, mobile environments, edge devices, data-intensive systems, and intelligent computing architectures. As application workloads become more dynamic, conventional optimization techniques may be insufficient for maintaining consistent performance under changing computational conditions. Advanced computational algorithms provide opportunities to improve software performance through efficient data processing, algorithmic optimization, parallel computation, dynamic resource allocation, workload balancing, caching, predictive optimization, and adaptive execution strategies. This study examines advanced computational algorithms for software performance enhancement and develops an integrated conceptual framework for improving software efficiency across development and operational environments. A conceptual descriptive research design was adopted using secondary literature associated with algorithm design, computational complexity, software optimization, parallel computing, distributed systems, cloud computing, intelligent optimization, memory management, database processing, and performance engineering. The analysis identifies algorithm selection, complexity reduction, data-structure optimization, parallel execution, workload distribution, caching, resource scheduling, predictive optimization, and continuous performance monitoring as major components of an effective software performance strategy. The proposed framework integrates these components through a continuous performance engineering lifecycle beginning with workload analysis and ending with adaptive optimization. The findings indicate that algorithmic efficiency remains one of the most fundamental determinants of software performance because inefficient algorithms can create computational bottlenecks even when hardware resources are abundant. Complexity-aware algorithm selection can reduce unnecessary computational operations, while optimized data structures can improve access and storage efficiency. Parallel algorithms can further accelerate computationally intensive workloads by distributing operations across multiple processing units. Distributed and cloud-based algorithms can extend scalability by allocating computational tasks across heterogeneous infrastructure. |
