Abstract Intelligent robotic systems are becoming an important component of future industrial development through the integration of robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced sensing, computer vision, autonomous navigation, intelligent control, and industrial communication technologies. Unlike conventional robots that primarily execute predetermined instructions, intelligent robotic systems can perceive operational environments, process information, support adaptive decision-making, and interact with changing industrial conditions. This paper examines intelligent robotic systems for future industrial applications through a conceptual and literature-based approach. The study focuses on industrial robotics, collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, robotic perception, intelligent manipulation, machine vision, AI-based control, and human-robot collaboration. The analysis indicates that intelligent robotic systems can support manufacturing, assembly, inspection, logistics, material handling, maintenance, warehousing, and flexible production activities.
Their integration with Industrial IoT, digital twins, edge computing, and intelligent manufacturing platforms can further improve operational coordination and real-time responsiveness. However, implementation involves challenges related to safety, cybersecurity, interoperability, system complexity, investment, workforce skills, and reliable autonomous decision-making. Future research should emphasize adaptive robotics, explainable robotic intelligence, safe human-robot collaboration, autonomous industrial mobility, multi-robot coordination, digital-twin-based robotic simulation, and energy-efficient robotic architectures. The study concludes that intelligent robotic systems can provide a foundation for future industrial automation when technological innovation is combined with safety, interoperability, human expertise, cybersecurity, and lifecycle-oriented engineering management.
