| Abstract | Advanced smart systems are becoming important enablers of digital transformation across industrial, organizational, commercial, infrastructure, and public-service environments. These systems integrate artificial intelligence, Internet of Things technologies, cloud and edge computing, big data analytics, automation, cyber-physical systems, digital twins, and intelligent communication networks to support connected and data-driven operations. This paper examines advanced smart systems and their applications in digital transformation through a conceptual and literature-based approach. The study focuses on intelligent automation, real-time data processing, predictive analytics, smart infrastructure, connected services, digital decision-making, and adaptive operational management. The analysis indicates that advanced smart systems can improve organizational responsiveness, operational visibility, process integration, resource utilization, and decision-making capabilities. Their integration can also support flexible and scalable digital environments by connecting physical assets with computational and analytical platforms. However, implementation is affected by cybersecurity risks, interoperability limitations, data quality, infrastructure requirements, investment, workforce capabilities, and organizational resistance. The study concludes that successful digital transformation requires coordinated development of intelligent technologies, secure data architectures, interoperable systems, skilled human resources, and strategic organizational practices. Future research should emphasize adaptive intelligence, edge-based smart systems, digital twins, explainable analytics, autonomous decision-making, secure IoT architectures, and human-centered digital transformation models. |
