| Abstract | Autonomous robotic systems are becoming increasingly important in industrial, healthcare, transportation, logistics, agriculture, exploration, and service applications. Advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, sensor technologies, navigation, control systems, and human–robot interaction have enabled robots to perform complex tasks with reduced dependence on continuous human intervention. This study examines autonomous systems for advanced robotic applications, focusing on perception, decision-making, navigation, motion planning, adaptive control, communication, and intelligent task execution. A qualitative descriptive and conceptual research design was adopted using secondary academic literature. The analysis indicates that autonomous robotic systems can improve operational efficiency, precision, flexibility, safety, and responsiveness in dynamic environments. Multi-sensor perception allows robots to interpret their surroundings, while artificial intelligence supports decision-making and task adaptation. Advanced navigation and motion-planning techniques enable autonomous movement in structured and unstructured environments. However, practical deployment remains affected by challenges involving safety, uncertainty, computational requirements, cybersecurity, system reliability, energy consumption, and human–robot interaction. The study concludes that autonomous robotic systems provide a significant foundation for advanced robotic applications by combining sensing, intelligence, control, and adaptive decision-making. Future research should emphasize explainable autonomy, collaborative robotics, adaptive learning, energy-efficient computation, robust perception, safe navigation, and reliable autonomous operation. |
