| Abstract | The integration of robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT) is creating a significant technological foundation for future smart systems by combining physical automation, connected sensing, real-time communication, intelligent processing, and adaptive decision-making. Robotics provides autonomous physical capabilities, while IoT enables robots, sensors, machines, infrastructure, and digital platforms to exchange information continuously. This study examines future smart technologies using robotics and IoT integration, with emphasis on intelligent sensing, autonomous operation, real-time communication, edge computing, cloud platforms, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and coordinated decision-making. A qualitative descriptive and conceptual research design was adopted through analysis of secondary academic literature. The analysis demonstrates that integrated robotics-IoT environments can support intelligent manufacturing, smart logistics, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, transportation, energy management, and service automation. IoT connectivity enables robots to access environmental and operational information, while robotic systems can convert digital decisions into physical actions. Edge computing can support low-latency processing, whereas cloud platforms enable centralized storage and large-scale analytics. Artificial intelligence can enhance perception, prediction, planning, and autonomous control. Despite these opportunities, challenges associated with interoperability, cybersecurity, communication reliability, data management, energy consumption, system complexity, safety, and scalability remain important. The study concludes that robotics and IoT integration can strengthen future smart technologies by connecting intelligent physical systems with digital information environments. Future research should focus on autonomous coordination, edge intelligence, secure communication, collaborative robotics, adaptive learning, digital twins, energy-efficient architectures, and reliable human-robot interaction. |
