| Abstract | Smart medical technologies are increasingly influencing healthcare transformation by integrating connected devices, artificial intelligence, robotics, medical imaging, wearable technologies, digital health platforms, and advanced data analytics into healthcare delivery. These technologies can support continuous monitoring, clinical decision-making, personalized care, remote healthcare services, operational efficiency, and patient engagement. This study examines smart medical technologies and their potential contribution to future healthcare transformation through a conceptual and literature-based research approach. The study focuses on artificial intelligence, Internet of Things-enabled medical devices, wearable sensors, robotic technologies, digital medical records, intelligent diagnostic systems, telemedicine, cloud computing, and healthcare analytics. Smart technologies can facilitate the collection and processing of healthcare information while supporting healthcare professionals in diagnosis, monitoring, treatment planning, and patient management. Artificial intelligence can assist with pattern recognition and analytical decision support, whereas connected medical devices can facilitate continuous observation. Wearable technologies can extend monitoring beyond hospitals, and telemedicine can improve access to remote healthcare services. However, healthcare transformation through smart technologies also involves challenges related to privacy, cybersecurity, interoperability, data quality, technological complexity, professional readiness, regulatory requirements, cost, and digital inequality. Successful transformation therefore requires reliable technological infrastructure, secure information management, interoperable systems, professional oversight, patient-centered design, and appropriate governance mechanisms. The study concludes that smart medical technologies can contribute to more connected, proactive, efficient, and personalized healthcare systems when technological innovation is appropriately aligned with clinical requirements. Future research should investigate intelligent medical platforms, explainable artificial intelligence, secure connected devices, edge computing, robotics, digital twins, personalized healthcare analytics, and interoperable healthcare ecosystems. Sustainable healthcare transformation will require balanced integration of technological innovation, clinical expertise, ethical governance, patient participation, and organizational preparedness. |
