| Abstract | Healthcare automation has become an important component of modern healthcare transformation as hospitals and medical organizations increasingly adopt artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, Internet of Things technologies, intelligent information systems, and advanced data analytics. Traditional healthcare processes frequently involve repetitive administrative activities, manual documentation, fragmented information management, and time-intensive operational procedures. Intelligent automation systems can address these limitations by supporting automated information processing, appointment management, patient monitoring, clinical documentation, workflow coordination, resource management, and decision-support activities. This study examines healthcare automation systems using intelligent technologies through a conceptual and literature-based research design. The study focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotic process automation, healthcare robotics, IoT-enabled monitoring, natural language processing, predictive analytics, and intelligent decision-support systems. The analysis indicates that healthcare automation can improve operational efficiency, information accessibility, workflow consistency, and resource utilization while reducing repetitive workload. Intelligent monitoring technologies can facilitate continuous collection of patient information, while predictive analytics can assist healthcare organizations in identifying patterns and anticipating operational or clinical requirements. Nevertheless, healthcare automation presents challenges related to data quality, interoperability, privacy, cybersecurity, algorithmic bias, workforce readiness, implementation costs, and system reliability. Automation should therefore be implemented as a supportive mechanism that complements healthcare professionals rather than replacing human judgment in complex medical situations. The study concludes that integrated, secure, interoperable, and human-centered automation systems can contribute to more efficient and responsive healthcare environments. Future research should investigate explainable AI, autonomous healthcare robotics, multimodal data integration, intelligent workflow orchestration, privacy-preserving automation, digital twins, and adaptive healthcare systems. |
