Abstract Advanced wearable technologies have emerged as important tools for personalized health monitoring by enabling continuous collection and analysis of physiological, behavioral, and activity-related information. Smartwatches, fitness trackers, smart clothing, biosensors, and wearable medical devices can monitor parameters such as heart rate, physical activity, sleep patterns, body temperature, blood oxygen levels, and other health indicators. Integration of wearable technologies with Internet of Things connectivity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning can transform continuously collected information into personalized health insights. This study examines advanced wearable technologies for personalized health monitoring, focusing on sensor technologies, real-time monitoring, intelligent analytics, personalized health assessment, remote healthcare, and data management. A qualitative descriptive and conceptual research design was adopted using secondary academic literature.
The analysis indicates that wearable technologies can support continuous monitoring, early identification of health changes, preventive healthcare, patient engagement, and individualized health management. However, implementation involves challenges related to sensor accuracy, battery limitations, data quality, interoperability, privacy, cybersecurity, usability, cost, and user adherence. The study concludes that advanced wearable technologies can contribute to personalized health monitoring when supported by reliable sensing, secure data management, intelligent analytics, and appropriate healthcare integration. Future research should emphasize multimodal biosensing, artificial intelligence, flexible wearable devices, privacy-preserving analytics, real-time predictive monitoring, and clinically validated personalized healthcare frameworks.
