Abstract The rapid emergence of digital technologies has transformed conventional educational environments into increasingly connected, adaptive, and technology-supported learning ecosystems. Smart education frameworks integrate emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cloud computing, learning analytics, virtual reality, augmented reality, blockchain, and intelligent automation to enhance teaching, learning, assessment, and educational management. This study examines smart education frameworks using emerging technologies through a conceptual and literature-based research design. The analysis focuses on intelligent learning environments, personalized education, real-time learning analytics, immersive learning, connected classrooms, automated assessment, digital collaboration, and data-driven educational decision-making. Smart education frameworks can facilitate personalized learning pathways by analyzing learner performance and adapting educational resources according to individual needs. IoT-enabled environments can support real-time monitoring of classroom conditions and learning activities, while cloud platforms provide flexible access to educational resources.
Immersive technologies can enhance experiential learning by providing simulated environments for exploration and practice. However, the implementation of smart education involves challenges related to infrastructure, digital inequality, privacy, cybersecurity, interoperability, teacher readiness, cost, algorithmic bias, and technological dependence. Therefore, smart education should not be conceptualized merely as the adoption of advanced technologies but as an integrated educational ecosystem in which technological capabilities are aligned with pedagogical objectives and learner requirements. The study proposes a conceptual smart education framework connecting emerging technologies, educational processes, learner interaction, analytics, intelligent support, and continuous improvement. The findings indicate that responsible integration of emerging technologies can contribute to more flexible, personalized, interactive, and data-informed educational environments.
