| Abstract | Technology-based assessment has become an important component of contemporary education by integrating digital platforms, learning analytics, artificial intelligence, automated feedback, adaptive testing, electronic portfolios, and online evaluation systems into the assessment process. These technologies can expand assessment beyond conventional examinations by supporting continuous monitoring, formative evaluation, competency measurement, personalized feedback, and data-informed instructional decisions. This study examines technology-based assessment frameworks for learning evaluation, focusing on digital assessment platforms, adaptive assessment, AI-supported evaluation, automated feedback, learning analytics, e-portfolios, competency-based assessment, and online collaborative assessment. A qualitative descriptive and conceptual research design was adopted using secondary academic literature. The analysis indicates that technology-based assessment frameworks can facilitate timely feedback, continuous evidence collection, individualized evaluation, flexible assessment delivery, and systematic learning-performance monitoring. Adaptive assessment can modify question difficulty according to learner responses, while learning analytics can identify patterns in achievement and participation. AI-based assessment can assist with response analysis and feedback generation, although human review remains essential for complex and high-stakes decisions. The implementation of technology-based assessment also presents challenges related to validity, reliability, privacy, cybersecurity, algorithmic bias, academic integrity, accessibility, teacher preparedness, and digital inequality. The study concludes that effective technology-based assessment requires alignment among assessment objectives, pedagogical principles, technological capabilities, human judgment, and responsible data governance. |
