| Abstract | Digital business ecosystems have transformed conventional approaches to strategic management by connecting organizations with customers, suppliers, technology providers, platform operators, complementors, and other stakeholders through digitally enabled networks. The increasing adoption of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, Internet of Things, blockchain, and digital platforms has created new opportunities for collaborative value creation, market expansion, innovation, and organizational agility. This study examines strategic management approaches for digital business ecosystems, focusing on ecosystem governance, platform strategies, digital capabilities, collaborative innovation, data-driven decision-making, competitive positioning, and sustainable value creation. A qualitative descriptive and conceptual research design was adopted using secondary academic literature. The analysis indicates that effective ecosystem management requires organizations to coordinate internal capabilities with external digital partners while maintaining appropriate governance, interoperability, trust, and value-sharing mechanisms. Digital platforms can facilitate interactions among multiple ecosystem participants, while data analytics can support strategic decision-making and market intelligence. Artificial intelligence and automation can further enhance ecosystem responsiveness and operational coordination. However, digital business ecosystems also create challenges involving cybersecurity, data governance, technological dependence, platform competition, partner coordination, interoperability, and regulatory complexity. Strategic management approaches therefore need to emphasize adaptability, collaborative governance, digital capability development, stakeholder coordination, and continuous innovation. The study concludes that organizations can strengthen their participation in digital ecosystems by aligning technology investments with strategic objectives, developing flexible organizational capabilities, establishing transparent governance mechanisms, and continuously evaluating ecosystem relationships. The findings provide a conceptual foundation for organizations seeking to manage digital ecosystems and develop sustainable strategies within increasingly interconnected business environments. |
