Green Technology Frameworks for Environmental Sustainability

Author(s) Dr. Charlotte E. Morgan

Abstract Green technology has become an important component of contemporary environmental sustainability strategies because organizations and societies increasingly seek technological approaches that reduce resource consumption, pollution, greenhouse-gas emissions, and ecological degradation. Rapid industrialization, urban expansion, energy demand, waste generation, and climate-related pressures have increased the need for technology frameworks that connect innovation with environmental responsibility. This study examines green technology frameworks for environmental sustainability through a conceptual and descriptive research approach.
The study focuses on renewable energy, energy-efficient systems, green buildings, sustainable transportation, clean production, waste-management technologies, water-treatment systems, precision agriculture, smart environmental monitoring, circular technologies, and digital sustainability solutions. An integrated framework is proposed connecting environmental assessment, technology selection, resource optimization, green innovation, implementation, monitoring, and adaptive improvement.
The analysis indicates that green technologies can contribute to environmental sustainability by improving energy efficiency, reducing emissions, conserving natural resources, minimizing waste, improving environmental monitoring, and supporting cleaner production. However, successful implementation depends on investment capacity, infrastructure, technical expertise, policy support, technology accessibility, lifecycle assessment, and organizational readiness.
The study emphasizes that green technology should be evaluated not only according to technological performance but also according to lifecycle environmental impacts, economic feasibility, social accessibility, and long-term sustainability. Future research should investigate artificial intelligence-enabled green systems, renewable energy integration, smart grids, green computing, sustainable mobility, carbon-management technologies, circular production systems, and digital environmental monitoring. The proposed framework provides a structured foundation for integrating technological innovation with environmental sustainability and supporting long-term ecological resilience.
