| Abstract | Green innovation has emerged as an important pathway for addressing environmental pressures while supporting technological advancement, resource efficiency, and sustainable economic development. Rapid technological change has created opportunities to redesign products, production processes, energy systems, materials, and organizational practices according to environmental sustainability principles. This study examines green innovation frameworks for future technology development through a conceptual and descriptive research approach. The study focuses on eco-design, clean technologies, renewable energy, circular economy principles, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things systems, advanced materials, digital twins, smart manufacturing, and sustainable technology assessment. An integrated framework is proposed connecting environmental challenges, innovation identification, sustainable technology design, digital integration, resource optimization, implementation, environmental performance evaluation, and continuous innovation. The analysis indicates that green innovation can support reductions in energy consumption, material waste, emissions, resource depletion, and environmental impacts while encouraging technological competitiveness and long-term sustainability. Digital technologies can strengthen green innovation by enabling intelligent monitoring, predictive analytics, lifecycle assessment, and optimization of resource-intensive processes. However, implementation may be constrained by research and development costs, technological uncertainty, infrastructure limitations, skills shortages, regulatory complexity, market barriers, data challenges, and difficulties in evaluating long-term environmental outcomes. Effective green innovation therefore requires collaboration among researchers, technology developers, industries, policymakers, investors, and communities. Future research should investigate AI-enabled eco-design, digital twins for sustainable product development, advanced green materials, circular manufacturing systems, renewable-energy technologies, sustainable computing, and integrated environmental performance metrics. The proposed framework provides a structured foundation for connecting technological innovation with environmental objectives and supporting the development of future technologies that are resource-efficient, adaptable, economically viable, and environmentally responsible. |
