| Abstract | Growing environmental pressures, resource depletion, climate change, industrial emissions, and increasing energy demand have strengthened the need for engineering approaches that integrate sustainability throughout the design, development, operation, and management of technological systems. Green engineering provides a framework for reducing environmental impacts while maintaining functional, economic, and technological performance. This study examines advanced green engineering models for sustainable applications, with particular emphasis on energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, circular resource management, sustainable materials, low-carbon manufacturing, waste minimization, life-cycle assessment, and intelligent environmental optimization. A qualitative descriptive and conceptual research design was adopted using secondary academic literature. The study examines how advanced engineering models can integrate environmental indicators, resource-efficiency principles, digital technologies, and life-cycle thinking into engineering decisions. Life-cycle assessment can support evaluation of environmental impacts across product and process stages, while optimization models can identify resource-efficient alternatives. Artificial intelligence, digital twins, Internet of Things technologies, and advanced simulation can further improve monitoring and optimization of sustainable engineering systems. The analysis indicates that green engineering models can support reductions in material consumption, energy use, emissions, and waste while improving resource productivity. However, implementation challenges include technological costs, complex system integration, limited sustainability data, uncertain environmental impacts, infrastructure requirements, and the need for interdisciplinary expertise. The study emphasizes integrated engineering frameworks combining life-cycle thinking, circularity, renewable energy, intelligent optimization, sustainable materials, and environmental performance assessment. Future research should explore AI-enabled green engineering, digital twins for sustainable systems, circular manufacturing models, low-carbon materials, renewable energy optimization, and real-time sustainability monitoring. Advanced green engineering can provide an important foundation for developing efficient, resilient, and environmentally responsible technological systems. |
