| Abstract | Future-oriented environmental technologies are increasingly important for addressing climate change, resource depletion, pollution, waste generation, ecosystem degradation, and the growing environmental pressures associated with economic and technological development. Emerging technologies can support sustainable development by improving resource efficiency, reducing emissions, strengthening environmental monitoring, and enabling more adaptive management systems. This study examines future-oriented environmental technologies for sustainable development through a conceptual and descriptive research approach. The study focuses on artificial intelligence, Internet of Things systems, renewable energy technologies, smart grids, advanced water treatment, carbon management, green materials, circular economy technologies, intelligent waste management, remote sensing, digital twins, and environmental biotechnology. An integrated technology framework is developed by connecting environmental assessment, technology identification, digital monitoring, intelligent analysis, resource optimization, clean technology deployment, sustainability evaluation, and continuous innovation. The analysis indicates that emerging environmental technologies can contribute to cleaner production, energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, emissions management, and improved environmental decision-making. Artificial intelligence and advanced analytics can support predictive environmental management, while IoT and remote sensing can provide continuous environmental information. Renewable energy, energy storage, smart-grid technologies, carbon-management systems, and green materials can further support low-impact development. However, technological uncertainty, high investment requirements, infrastructure limitations, data governance, cybersecurity, skills shortages, lifecycle impacts, and unequal access can constrain implementation. Sustainable technology development therefore requires coordinated research and development, supportive policies, green finance, interdisciplinary expertise, environmental standards, stakeholder participation, and lifecycle evaluation. Future research should investigate autonomous environmental monitoring, AI-enabled climate adaptation, advanced carbon removal, intelligent water systems, sustainable energy storage, bio-based materials, digital twins, and integrated environmental technology platforms. The proposed framework provides a structured basis for understanding how emerging technologies can contribute to resilient, resource-efficient, and environmentally responsible sustainable development. |
