| Abstract | Green technology has become an important component of contemporary environmental management because of increasing concerns related to climate change, resource depletion, pollution, waste generation, and ecosystem degradation. Green technologies incorporate innovative products, processes, systems, and digital solutions designed to reduce environmental impacts while improving resource efficiency. This study examines major applications of green technology for environmental improvement, with particular attention to renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable transportation, waste management, water conservation, pollution monitoring, smart environmental systems, and digital technologies. A qualitative descriptive research design based on secondary academic literature was adopted. The analysis indicates that green technologies can reduce energy consumption, greenhouse-gas emissions, material waste, water losses, and environmental pollution while supporting more efficient resource utilization. Artificial intelligence, Internet of Things technologies, advanced sensors, smart grids, and data analytics can further strengthen environmental monitoring and decision-making by providing real-time information and predictive capabilities. Nevertheless, green-technology implementation faces challenges involving high initial investment, technological complexity, infrastructure limitations, skills shortages, regulatory uncertainty, and difficulties in measuring complete lifecycle environmental benefits. The study highlights the importance of integrating technological innovation with supportive environmental policies, lifecycle assessment, circular resource management, organizational capabilities, and stakeholder collaboration. Future research should investigate intelligent green systems, AI-enabled environmental monitoring, renewable-energy integration, circular technology management, smart infrastructure, and standardized sustainability indicators. Green technology can consequently contribute to long-term environmental improvement when technological advancement is aligned with measurable ecological objectives and responsible resource management. |
