| Abstract | Complex research challenges increasingly emerge from interconnected technological, social, economic, environmental, and organizational systems that cannot be adequately examined through isolated analytical approaches. The rapid growth of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big-data analytics, Internet of Things technologies, cloud computing, natural language processing, digital twins, and computational modelling has created new opportunities for addressing complex research problems. Intelligent systems can integrate heterogeneous datasets, identify hidden patterns, generate predictions, automate analytical processes, and support evidence-based decision-making. This study examines an intelligent systems approach for solving complex research challenges through a conceptual and descriptive research design. The study focuses on intelligent data acquisition, multi-source data integration, computational analysis, predictive modelling, knowledge representation, decision support, interdisciplinary research, validation, and adaptive learning. An integrated framework is proposed connecting research problem identification, intelligent data collection, data integration, preprocessing, analytical modelling, knowledge generation, solution development, validation, and continuous improvement. The analysis indicates that intelligent systems can improve research efficiency and analytical capacity by processing complex datasets and supporting advanced pattern recognition and prediction. Machine learning can identify relationships within large datasets, natural language processing can analyze extensive textual information, and digital twins can support simulation of complex systems. However, successful implementation depends on data quality, methodological transparency, computational infrastructure, domain expertise, ethical governance, cybersecurity, interpretability, and continuous validation. Complex research challenges also require interdisciplinary collaboration because intelligent systems often operate across multiple knowledge domains. The study therefore emphasizes combining technological intelligence with human expertise rather than treating automated systems as independent research decision-makers. Future research should investigate explainable intelligent systems, AI-assisted research design, autonomous knowledge discovery, digital research twins, adaptive analytical models, interdisciplinary research platforms, and human-AI collaborative research environments. The proposed framework provides a structured approach for using intelligent systems to address complex research challenges while maintaining methodological rigor, transparency, adaptability, sustainability, and responsible research practices. |
