Advanced Computational Frameworks for Interdisciplinary Research Applications

| Abstract | Interdisciplinary research increasingly requires computational frameworks capable of integrating heterogeneous datasets, analytical methods, theoretical perspectives, and domain-specific knowledge. Advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, high-performance computing, cloud computing, big-data analytics, natural language processing, simulation, and digital research technologies have created new opportunities for addressing complex research problems. This study examines advanced computational frameworks for interdisciplinary research applications through a conceptual and descriptive research approach. The study focuses on data integration, computational modelling, intelligent analytics, knowledge synthesis, simulation, collaborative research, validation, reproducibility, and adaptive computational processes. An integrated framework is proposed connecting interdisciplinary problem identification, data acquisition, preprocessing, computational analysis, modelling, knowledge synthesis, validation, interpretation, and continuous refinement. The analysis indicates that computational frameworks can strengthen interdisciplinary research by processing large datasets, integrating diverse evidence, identifying complex patterns, supporting prediction, and facilitating scenario-based investigation. Artificial intelligence and machine learning can improve analytical capabilities, while natural language processing can support large-scale literature analysis. Knowledge graphs can connect concepts across disciplines, and simulation and digital twins can support investigation of complex systems. However, successful implementation depends on data quality, interoperability, computational infrastructure, methodological transparency, technical expertise, cybersecurity, reproducibility, and responsible research governance. The study emphasizes that computational systems should complement rather than replace human expertise because researchers remain essential for contextual interpretation, theoretical reasoning, validation, and ethical decision-making. Future research should investigate multimodal artificial intelligence, interdisciplinary knowledge graphs, digital research twins, federated computational platforms, automated reproducible workflows, and human-AI collaborative research environments |
